FAQs

The original Moka Express from Bialetti just got a modern upgrade. This stovetop coffee maker features a circular, stainless steel base in order to form the connection with your induction stovetop. While this stovetop percolator might look a little different in shape, the standard of coffee is just what you'd expect from a Bialetti coffee maker.

For best results, you should use a consistent, fine to medium-fine grind size in your Bialetti Moka Induction; not as fine as espresso but finer than you would use in a cafetiere, similar to the Bialetti Moka Ground Coffee. Or grind fresh at home with whole bean coffee and an espresso grinder. We would recommend the Bialetti Perfetto Moka coffee that has been roasted and ground specifically for stovetop coffee makers.
Cleaning your Bialetti Moka Induction is relatively simple and an important step to prolonging the life of your coffee maker. Fill the boiler with hot water (3 parts) and vinegar (1 part) and place on the hob until liquid appears. Repeat this step two more times, without the vinegar, and finally rinse under running water. Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before putting them away to be stored. If you do not dry thoroughly it will cause discolouration in the water chamber but the product will still work. This is not covered by the Bialetti guarantee.
The Moka Induction has a steel base, making it compatible with induction stovetops, while the classic Moka Express has an aluminium base and is designed for gas or electric.
You can use it on gas, ceramic, electric, and induction stovetops.
Yes, replacement parts can be bought for your Bialetti Moka Induction, including the gasket, filter and filter funnel. Unfortunately we don’t sell the base, pot or plastic knob as individual products. Browse our full range of Spare Parts.
PLEASE NOTE: Bialetti recently updated this product and the spare parts for the item we sell on our website are not compatible with older models. Please see our stovetop spares guide for further information.
You should fill the lower chamber to just below the safety valve. You should only use the product for making the amount of coffee that is suited to the size. If you have a 6 cup you should use the correct amount of coffee and water to make 6 cups, you can’t simply half the amount of coffee and water to make 3 cups.
Fantastic quality moka pot. A gift for my husband who says it makes an excellent cup of coffee.
Good enough but a pain to close compared to the original. I bought this because it’s more versatile and works on both gas and induction stoves but I wish I had bought the original as it fastens much easier. It’s also cheaper.
Great machine works well. The only tiny thing is that I ordered a red one and a black one turned up. It works the same so no worries.
The machine itself is lovely and works well.
The only fault was the colour, I ordered Red and received a black one. I will keep it as it's a great machine just not the colour I ordered.
I am happy to keep the black.
